A very well run place with a lot of information on Tanzanite and they even have a small theatre where they show you a 10-minute dcoumentary film on the discovery and mining of Tanzanite.
Tanzanite is very expensive. So the least one can do is to try to have a nice buying experience when spending so much, and buy from a place which has good credentials. From that perspective, "The Tanzanite Experience" ticks all the boxes.
As for the stone itself....well I dont have much experience with these things and I cant say much!

We visited on the last day of our 3 week Kenya/Tanzania adventure and it was well worth the stop. The video and guided presentations were informative and just the right length. They provided a clear understanding of the history of tanzanite, plus information on grading and values. Then, of course, there is an opportunity to purchase jewelry and unset stone of every size, shape, and quality via a well-trained sales staff that can explain every nuance. Such fun - it would be hard to walk away empty-handed!

We had a good introduction to Tanzanites at the Tanzanite Experience in Arusha.

We went through a mini-tour (including an informative video) about tanzanites, starting from how it's formed, to determining the quality of the polished stone.

Ally took care of the whole process for us. He was helpful; and never pushy to force us to buy an item.

We also checked two other stores in Arusha but ended up buying tanzanite with excellent bVI color at the Tanzanite Experience due to the great selection of stones here. Prices are on the higher end, but the quality is excellent!

On our recent Tanzania safari trip, we returned to the Tanzanite Experience in Arusha, in search of intense blue-violet stones for earrings (on a previous trip we had purchased a beautiful stone for a ring). We found a pair of the highest quality stones at the TE shop at Lake Manyara Airport. I then worked with Ronan Liebard in Arusha, who worked to design beautiful settings for the earrings. I elected to have the settings made locally in Tanzania. What a great decision! The earrings are spectacular. Ronan was detailed and patient and the quality of their work is exceptional. My daughter recently visited The Tanzanite Experience and gifted me a pair of their Tanzanite diamond earrings. The earrings came in a snazzy blue/Violet box with a buyer's guide and signed certification with an ID, Origin, CW, Shape, Size & 3 C’s. I was impressed. But I was more impressed when put on the earrings! I’ve never seen Tanzanite of this quality before and couldn’t take the earrings off. I really enjoyed this experience and it was what I enjoyed most in Arusha (outside of the safari of course). Everything is professionally done and there is no admission cost. The goal is to ultimately sell expensive gemstones, but I thought both the movie and tour were very interesting and my guide Evelyn was very nice and answered all my questions. He asked me to send pictures of my damaged bracelet and then send me several pictures of other new bracelets that I could choose from. My partner and I visited the Tanzanite experience’s Small shop in Serengeti National Park. There we saw a Tanzanite stone that we loved, but it was early in our trip and we decided to wait and see what other options were available in Arusha. Well after days of looking, we realized that the small stone in Serengeti was the nicest one that we had seen and that the price was very fair. That little stone traveled for six weeks by multiple couriers from Serengeti to Kenya, to India, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and eventually into our hands in the United States. Along the way, there were problems processing the payment and periods of time where we couldn’t track the stone but the whole time the communication with the staff was excellent and reassuring. When we received the stone it was as beautiful as we had remembered. I have since had it evaluated by an independent gemologist and the stone was evaluated to be the same as described in the Tanzanite Experience report the gemologist felt that the price I paid was retail fair market value for what I got which is all I can really ask for.
I recommend this company and would buy from them again without reservation.

The Tanzanite Experience and Junaid have been fantastic to work with! I worked with Junaid to create a custom pendant that turned out to be absolutely beautiful! Junaid emailed me as we discussed the details. He sent pictures and tracking information when the pendant was shipped to me in the US. It arrived fairly quickly and it’s so pretty! I highly recommend The Tanzanite Experience!

I was traveling through Tanzania in Arusha and was looking for a loose Tanzanite stone to be placed in my daughter's college graduation ring. The stone had to be made to a very specific size to fit into the ring. I met with Naphy Mshana who went out of her way to have a Tanzanite stone cut to those specifications. She even had several stones cut to the specifications so I would have a choice.

I had to leave Arusha before the stones would be ready and she made arrangements to have someone meet me at my hotel in Dar es Salaam without a commitment that I would purchase either stone. I cannot say how happy I was with the stones and the services that were provided to me. I would highly recommend The Tanzanite Experience and Naphy if you are looking to buy any Tanzanite.

The prices were also very reasonable.

The attention to detail and customer Demands was impeccable! Something you rarely come across these days in the transaction world! The packaging got me all hyped up and excited it was well put, super impressive!

I’d recommend stopping by their showroom if possible. It is impressive to learn about Tanzanites and they are beautiful.

It is a great place to visit whilst in the area, to better understand how everything works regarding the mining and working with Tanzanite. I and my girlfriend were especially thankful for the staff who guided us through the museum, additionally explaining all the extra questions we had. Given that we were amazed by everything, I decided to buy an engagement ring when the timing was right. Right off the start, I was given the contact number of Mr.Junaid who helped me to pick up the right ring and looked over the whole process of making and shipping the ring.

Needless to say, I was feeling very reassured when in communication with Mr.Junaid. He was always giving me information about what was happening, he helped me moreover with filling in all the forms, making a bank transfer, and making sure everything was just perfect. There was a glitch with the shipping company which definitely was a third-party fault but Mr.Junaid went one step further once again by sending me a heartfelt gift from Arusha to Europe just as: "I am sorry for the inconvenience", which wasn't actually necessary but it gave me this additional feeling of gratitude.

All in all, my now fiance' was simply ecstatic with the ring, I found it to be exactly the same quality as I was expecting and wishing for, so we are both extremely happy with the service here and with the product. Whenever you are thinking of either visiting or buying something from them, that involves shipping overseas, my great recommendation is to contact Mr.Junaid who has proven more than once that he is a true asset to this team and company. Can't wait to visit there again.

Fascinating museum and great to learn the story behind the Tanzanite gemstone. I was greeted by Tabitha and she did a great job throughout the visit. I appreciated the informative and short documentary and then the replica of the mine shaft and then seeing the actual raw stones, learning about the stone quality, and then the jewelry prices.

Later in the airport, as I was looking in the other shops, the prices were the same, so I am glad I got my pieces here.

I felt no pressure to buy anything which is always positive. Instead, it was very friendly and cordial. They even offered some cookies and coffee.

Glad that I was able to finally visit as the Museum was closed on my initial day in Arusha due to the Election holiday.

We enjoyed our visit to the Tanzanite Experience. We did the tour with ‘trainee’ Mahya. The trainee is the wrong description as Mahya was very knowledgeable and professional and answered all my difficult questions immediately without help. Note to the manager….a promotion is in order! We bought a variety of Tanzanites from the friendly and extremely helpful staff especially finding matched pairs of pear-shaped Tanzanites for earrings. All in all a great way to spend a couple of hours

Nice experience there. More of a shop than a museum but you can see a nice video and have a really small tour in a factice mine to explain the story of the Tanzanite.
I was guided by Ally who gave me nice explanations in very good English and help me to purchase my first gemstone from Tanzania.
I would recommend if you want to make a small touristic experience or buy jewelry (not chenal)

Nice little exhibition about Tanzanite mining, takes no longer than 15 minutes. The shop offers an excellent choice of Tanzanite stones of all sizes and shapes. The stones are of different quality and therefore there is a big price range. So you can get some nice stones even if you are not willing to spend a fortune. We had a guide called Ally who was very friendly and patient and even though we only bought something small we were treated politely and felt well respected.

I have never been a fan of diamonds and thus discovered Tanzanite as an alternative for my fiancé's wedding ring. I have tried googling and looking for sources of this amazing gemstone online; however, I was never able to find a site that I liked. Fortunately, I ran into "The Tanzanite Experience" in Dubai at the Expo and was delighted to learn more about the gemstone and the services they offered.

I was overly delighted with the experience from their customer service but unfortunately, they were closing and did not have the ring I wanted in stock. Luckily, they had a website and thus I ended up ordering online from their shop in Tanzania. Again the customer service was exceptional and they bored me as I went back and forth with them on exactly what I wanted. I finally found the ring that was just perfect and they shipped it to me in just a few days.

I highly recommend these guys as they know exactly what they are doing, provide excellent customer service, and offer super fast/easy shipping. I'll definitely be coming back to these guys in the future!

As gemstone lovers, we absolutely loved this place. Ally Said was our guide and he was very informative and helpful when it came to purchasing a stone. The video is well made and the "underground" experience really gives you a sense of the mines themselves. Well worth a visit!

The staff here were very friendly people. They took good care of the customer, and coffee and tea are available. clean and spacious place. Especially staff named Tabitha took care of us very well.

When I walked in I was greeted and guided through the shop/museum. Everest is an experienced guide. You don't need to feel pressured to buy. Certainly worth your time, just stop by for an hour.

The history and the mining methods are explained in an authentic model of a mine.
The variety of stones is beautiful and this is truly a must-see when visiting Arusha.
