The Tanzanite Experience and TanzaniteOne Mine in collaboration with the Tanzanite Foundation ensure that local Tanzanian communities share in the rewards that the tanzanite industry earns.

Investment in sustainable community upliftment projects is developed in harmony with the local communities living at tanzanite's source.

Community projects completed to date with tanzanite funding and support include the Nasinyai Primary School, the ongoing expansion of a secondary school for boys and girls aged between 12 and 18, and the development of a medical clinic and a much valued community centre.

TanzaniteOne Mine provides fresh water supply for 2,000 villagers and approximately 4,500 head of livestock daily. It's environmental rehabilitation projects have encouraged the return of flora, fauna and prolific birdlife and wildlife to former mining areas. Infrastructural upgrades include the maintenance of roads, waterways and community buildings.

The TanzaniteOne Mining Group also works proactively to foster the adoption of Best Practice Principles through the industry in Tanzania.
